During the second visit of the China's Grand Strategy course, our students visited the Hanergy Renewable Energy Exhibition Center.

Hanergy is a green energy company and is the world's leading thin-film solar power company. The Chinese company was recently ranked among the top 50 Smartest Companies by the MIT Technology Review. Its exhibition center is located inside Beijing's Olympic Park and comprises several exhibition halls as well as a cinema where the audience is introduced to the history of humankind's use of energy and its possible future trends. In the last showroom, our students had the chance to take a look at Hanergy's latest products including cars' prototypes, solar-powered tents, backpacks, umbrellas, bikes and much more. Besides, the building itself is a product of technological innovation and environmentally-friendly design: its facade and roof are installed with thin-film solar cells that make a clean and steady energy supply possible.

The students were guided by Professor Liu Xu, instructor of the course Asia-Pacific Energy Cooperation who explained China's current and potential role in the production of renewable energy.
